Julian Robertson's family foundation recently earmarked another $2 million for North Carolina causes at its annual board meeting recently. It was the largest block of grants ever written by the Tiger Management's family foundation. In total, 56 groups in Rowan County received gifts from the foundation. Some of the largest grants went to the local school system to expand classroom and sports facilities, which included the expansion of the Salisbury High School track and field, in Robertson's hometown. The local parks and recreation department, a seminary and a number of community-outreach and children's programs also received sizable gifts.
