New York-based VegaPlus Capital Partners, the single-manager hedge fund seeding platform run by Madrid-based Vega Asset Management, is adding an equity specialist to its Anglian Commodities Fund, which was launched last year. It recently hired Mark Corigliano from Duke Management Co. to spearhead the equity allocation effort. Anglian Commodities is run by Julian Barrowcliffe.
The fund currently manages $400 million in assets and is planning to allocate 10% of it toward long/short equities in commodity-related companies. The portfolio will invest across all market caps, but it will have a small to mid-cap focus and an emphasis on North America.
