Ritchie hires two for life science and technology lending unit

Ritchie Capital has hired two lending specialists away from GE Commercial Finance to form a lending business that will cater to life sciences and technology companies.

The operation will be headed by senior managing director Bill DeMars, who was most recently the head of GE Finance's technology lending business, which began as LINC Capital. The business was later purchased by Heller Financial and then GE.

At the same time, Ritchie has named as the new group's chief of risk management Mark W. King, who previously worked with DeMars senior vice president for risk management at GE Commercial.
