Gleacher chair tapped for US Treasury


The White House has announced that it plans to nominate Emil W. Henry, Jr., chairman of Gleacher Fund Advisors, to the post of assistant secretary of the US Treasury for financial institutions.

Henry, who had been with the Greenwich, Conn. fund of funds group since its launch in 2002 and with parent Gleacher Partners since its founding in 1990, must first be confirmed by the US Senate banking committee.

If Henry's appointment goes through, it is expected that Bruce Ruehl, Gleacher Fund Advisors' president and chief investment officer, will take over as chairman and also remain the firm's
