Darien, Conn.-based Old Hill Partners recently hired two fixed-income and structured-product specialists, Hahn Kang and Gary Effman.
Initially Kang and Effman are likely to augment the firm's fixed-income trading and research capabilities. Over the longer term, the two are expected to play a role in the development of new strategies and structured product efforts at the firm.
Old Hill runs $800 million in five funds, specializing in actively traded and shorter-term fixed-income strategies in collateralized securities. The firm uses extensive credit analysis to identify undervalued opportunities in sectors that have fallen out of favor with traditional fixed-income investors.
