Catalyst hires KBC alum, targets institutional market

Catalyst Investment Management has hired David Keily, a marketing veteran of KBC Alternative Investment Management, to expand the firm's institutional client base.

Catalyst employs three event-driven strategies: distressed/high-yield, merger arbitrage, and equity long/short. The firm dates back to the early 1990s, but manages just $333 million, most of it from high net worth investors.

Keily left KBC in July, having served as that firm's senior v.p. for marketing and client relations since September 2001. He joins Kate Doyle, who has been the sole marketer at Catalyst since 1995.
