Pequot Capital Management has hired Byron Wien, Morgan Stanley's chief stock market strategist, to serve as the hedge fund company's chief investment strategist. Wien will work from Pequot's New York office to identify for Pequot's traders and portfolio managers the sectors he believes offer the best relative value profiles.
Wien's move will reunite him with Pequot chairman and chief executive officer, Art Samberg. Wien and Samberg both worked together in the 1970s and 1980s at Weiss, Peck and Greer, where Wien was a money manager and Samberg was a partner.
