McGuire hosts hedge fund "tailgate" party

These days it would probably make more sense to label Connecticut the "hedge fund state" rather than the "nutmeg state," its nickname. Certainly, the vast number of hedge funds based in the Greenwich-Stamford corridor has not been lost on fund manager Bruce McGuire, who recently founded and serves as president of the Connecticut Hedge Fund Association. Staffers from other Connecticut hedge funds have flocked to the new group, among them Tudor Investment Management's chief compliance officer Chris Patterson, who was named to the association's board. The group officially launched in the summer, following a small gathering in May.
