Shumway Capital Partners, the $2.7 billion Greenwich, Conn., firm founded by Tiger Management alumnus Chris Shumway, will launch a long/short global technology, media and telecommunications stock fund in January.
John Thaler, who joined Shumway at its April 2002 inception as an analyst, will serve as portfolio manager. Chris Shumway will act as adviser to the fund.
Prior to joining Shumway, Thaler covered telecom and media stocks for Spectrum Equity Investors, a private equity firm.
