Steyer's Farallon building college campus

Tom Steyer's Farallon Capital Management was singled out last year by members of the Yale University student group Unfarallon.com who were fighting for greater disclosure of university hedge fund investments. But don't expect that level of scrutiny from college students in sunny Hawaii. Steyer's investment shop is part of a group called "Hawai'i Campus Developers" chosen in November by the board of regents of the University of Hawai'i in November to finance and oversee the construction of a new college campus. The new facilities are expected to be developed on a 122-acre site at Hawai'i Community College's Komohana
