GoldenTree names Matza president

New York-based GoldenTree Asset Management has tapped Wall Street veteran Robert Matza to serve as president, a newly created role at the $7 billion asset management firm. Matza comes directly from Neuberger Berman, where as president and chief operating officer he played an instrumental role during the firm's 2003 acquisition by Lehman Brothers.

At GoldenTree, Matza will focus on building administrative and operational support. He will work alongside firm founder and chief investment officer Steven Tananbaum and chairman Leon Wagner.
