Hedge Fund Association elects new president


The Hedge Fund Association, a nine-year-old Washington, D.C.-based not-for-profit group representing hedge fund managers, service providers and investors, has elected David Friedland as its new president. Friedland is president of Magnum U.S. Investments, which manages hedge funds and consults to third-party funds of funds and hedge funds.

Friedland follows in the footsteps of his father, Dion Friedland, the chairman of Magnum Funds and founder of the HFA. David Friedland, who has served on the association's board of directors for the past two years, succeeds Michael Tannenbaum, a partner in the law firm Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt.
