Senate banking committee to hold hedge fund hearings


The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs has scheduled a hearing next Tuesday, March 28, to discuss the role of hedge funds in the capital markets.

The hearings will be hosted by Nebraska Republican Chuck Hagel, chair of the Banking Committee's Subcommittee on Securities and Investment. Hagel has invited a select group of industry participants and regulators to share their views on how the growing hedge fund industry, which has now reached more than $1.5 trillion in assets globally, is impacting the U.S. markets.
