George Soros may not have been at the Oscars. But one of his funds will soon own the rights to the Academy Award-winning film "Gladiator". Paramount Pictures, part of Viacom, has agreed to a $900 million deal that will sell 59 films in the Dreamworks SKG library, including "Gladiator", to funds operated by Soros and Dune Capital Management.
The price is a bargain, considering that Paramount paid $1.6 billion for Dreamworks in December. The deal gives the Soros and Dune funds majority rights for the films until 2011, after which Paramount has the option
