Kovner donates rare music collection


Hedge fund manager and art connoisseur Bruce Kovner has donated his 140-piece collection of rare music manuscripts to New York's Julliard School. Included in the collection is a revised copy of Beethoven's famed "Ninth Symphony," along with handwritten changes by the composer.

The Kovner collection, which will be on display at Julliard's library, also includes Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" as well as first editions of Brahms, Copland, Debussy, Handel, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Scriabin, Sibelius and Wagner.
