Glenview cofounder to join UNICEF board

Later this year, Amy Robbins, who helped found Glenview Capital Management together with her husband Larry, will be named to the board of directors of the U.S. fund for UNICEF, the United Nations-chartered agency which fights child poverty issues worldwide. Through their Amy and Larry Robbins Foundation, the couple put up $5 million to jumpstart the Mercury Fund, which will finance quick humanitarian aid after disasters strike. Matching funds are being sought to augment the effort. Those interested in donating should contact UNICEF at 212-922-2553.
