Dwight Anderson's Ospraie Management has hired Michael Fischer from Sandell Asset Management to serve as general counsel.
The role is somewhat new. Previously, Eric Vincent, formerly Ospraie's chief operating officer, had also been responsible for general counsel duties. Vincent was recently promoted to president of the New York-based hedge fund firm though he will continue fulfilling the duties of COO as well.
Prior to joining Ospraie, Fischer served as general counsel for Sandell, a $4 billion event-driven hedge fund firm. Before that, he was a senior associate in the mergers and acquisitions group of Latham & Watkins in New York
