New York's Ospraie Management has hired a JPMorgan buyout expert to help manage its less liquid positions. Luis Paz-Galindo is joining the team that manages Ospraie Special Opportunities Fund, a strategy that focuses on illiquid investments and private equity in commodities and basic industries.
Paz-Galindo, who has an expertise in energy transactions, will also help manage a yet-to-be launched private equity fund that would focus on nascent commodities businesses.
Paz-Galindo joins Ospraie after seven years at JPMorgan, five in the firm's Brazil offices and two at firm headquarters in New York. At JPMorgan, Paz-Galindo focused on energy research
