Multimanager platforms and macro funds gathered assets more quickly than other hedge fund strategies in this year's first half, according to research by Absolute Return.
Of the 50 largest hedge fund firms listed in Billion Dollar Club, those firms offering multimanager platforms saw a 27.49% increase in assets, with the biggest gain reported by JPMorgan Asset Management, which, including Highbridge Capital Management, grew 48% to $28.8 billion.
Global macro strategies grew an average of 24%, boosted by the phenomenal 36.59% growth reported by the giant Bridgewater Associates. Bridgewater now manages $28 billion.
