Verity Capital Partners, a multistrategy firm that spun out of Carlson Capital last year, has shut its doors. The decision to close down follows ongoing malaise regarding the firm's small capital base as well as unremarkable performance.
The three founders - Rory Connor, R.W. Bo French and B. Scott Lydick - left Clint Carlson's Dallas-based multistategy firm in March 2005. The trio were part of a notable exodus of personnel as Carlson was suffering from weak performance that has since turned around (see "Carlson's comeback," Absolute Return, September 2006).
