Thiel funds anti-aging research

Peter Thiel, founder of Clarium Capital Management, has pledged $3.5 million to support scientific research to alleviate, and even reverse, the effects of aging. The research will be conducted under the auspices of the Methuselah Foundation, a charity founded by Dr. Aubrey de Grey, a biomedical gerontologist affiliated with the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge. The pledge is structured as an outright gift of $500,000 over the next three years - with up to $3 million in funds to match other contributions.
