Abraham Trading Company of Canadian, Texas, recently carved out its commodity futures portfolio into a separate fund.
The commodity-only product was hived off the firm's flagship Abraham Trading Company Diversified Program, which began trading in 1988. The commodities portfolio in Abraham's diversified fund was up 2.86% in September and 10.16% year to date.
The firm was founded in 1988 by Salem Abraham, who has been managing the flagship strategy since then. He has also managed money for Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch.
The diversified portfolio invests in 34 commodity futures and 26 financial futures markets.
