Chart of the MONTH: Roepers on the rise


Alexander Roepers' Cambrian Fund, a $471 million long/short equity portfolio, reported strong September results, boosted in part by long positions in Black & Decker and Eaton. The fund, one of several under the umbrella of Roepers' New York-based Atlantic Investment Management, advanced 2.78% for the month, besting the 0.20% median rise of the Absolute Return U.S. Equity Index. That gain was especially welcome following a rather rough 2006 - YTD, Cambrian has netted just 1.84%.
