Tuckerbrook venturing into small caps

Tuckerbrook Alternative Investments has launched its first small-cap hedge fund.

The Long/Short Concentrated Small Cap Strategy debuted on January 15 with $20 million of seed capital.

Boston-based Tuckerbrook has contracted three outside managers to run the fund: Warren Isabelle, a long-only manager, and Guy Judkowski and David Schroll, both shorting specialists.

Isabelle is the principal investment officer at Ironwood Investment Management, where he generated a 23.7% return last year for Ironwood Isabelle Small Company Stock Inv. Schroll is a co-general partner at Wayne, Pa.-based Waterloo Partners, and Judkowski produces the investment newsletters The Short Seller's Report and Balance Sheet Watch.
