Merrill Lynch starts fund consultancy service


Merrill Lynch is launching a consulting service to help hedge funds source talent and has appointed Amy Margolis to head the initiative.

Margolis, a 25-year Merrill veteran, joins the global markets financing and services group from the firm's global equities division, where she was head of human resources management.

Margolis and her team will initially focus on the U.S. and plan to expand into Europe by mid-2007. She reports to Jeff Penney, co-head of global markets financing and services, and Kevin Dunleavy, head of global hedge fund strategy and client relations.

In her new role, Margolis will focus on identifying
