Cornell Capital Partners, co-founded in 2001 by Mark Angelo and Matt Beckmann, has consistently bested the Absolute Return Global Equity Index. January was no exception, as the roughly $634 million portfolio rose 1.05%*, vs. the strategy's median of 1.01%. The fund has a net average annualized return of 27.19%.
Managed by Angelo, Cornell follows a strategy making private investments in public equities (PIPEs). The fund's consistent outperformance has been attributed in part to the fund's involvement in a financing structure called a standby equity distribution agreement.
