Ramius adds global quantitative strategy


Ramius Capital Group has launched a global systematic long/short equity strategy managed by Andrei Pokrovsky, a former executive at the quantitative hedge fund operator Numeric Investors.

Ramius, the $8 billion New York-based multistrategy shop, currently manages $3.8 billion in hedge fund assets.

The firm opened the RCG Ardis Fund to outside investors on March 1 after incubating $100 million in it for the past year. Ardis is owned jointly by Ramius and Pokrovsky.

Ardis has an estimated capacity of $1.5 billion and currently holds 1,300 stocks. It employs leverage of up to 200% and has a target return of
