Soros remembers 9/11 rescuers

George Soros has donated $1 million to aid the uninsured rescue, recovery and cleanup workers who became sick after the September 11 attacks. Soros's Open Society Institute is channeling the aid through The New York Times Neediest Cases Fund. "As a New Yorker, I wanted to support the people who risked their well-being to help others in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks," Soros said in a statement.
