Ramius Capital Group has promoted Rob Ryon to head global convertible arbitrage, replacing Alex Adair. Ryon had been a managing director and trader in the convertible arbitrage group.

Adair, a partner, executive managing director and eight-year Ramius veteran, left the firm April 2. In an April 3 letter to investors, Ramius wrote: “While Alex does not have definitive plans at this time, he will be leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.” Adair could not be immediately reached for comment.

Ryon joined Ramius in 2001 and will assume Adair’s title and responsibilities while continuing to perform his current role.
