Boone Capital introduces turbo-charged fund


Boone Capital Management has launched a leveraged version of its $155 million flagship event-driven fund.

The New York firm was formed two years ago by David Markus and Jeffrey Wertheim. The founders, both from Louisville, Ky., named the firm after Daniel Boone, the legendary frontiersman who settled their home state.

The flagship fund, Boone Capital Partners, seeks out special situations in small- and mid-cap companies. The new Boone Capital Leveraged Fund began trading in April and runs pari passu to the flagship with a leverage factor of two to one. The flagship fund netted a gain of 5% through
