Marathon’s Rabinowitz combats infant mortality

Marathon Asset Management’s chief financial officer, Andrew Rabinowitz, and his wife Phyllis have turned a personal tragedy into a campaign to improve the health of newborn babies. The Rabinowitzes, who lost their infant daughter last July to a preventable illness, have founded the non-profit R Baby Foundation. In May, the organization raised $2.5 million with a benefit at the Manhattan Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The event drew a crowd of 850, including talk show hostess Kelly Ripa, and Aaron Lewis of “Stain,” a grunge-metal band.
