Funds of funds surge past $1 trillion

Before the credit crunch triggered global financial turmoil, the first half of 2007 witnessed the single largest growth in fund-of-hedge funds assets since our first survey was launched in 2002. As a barometer for the growth of the global fund of funds industry, the InvestHedge Billion Dollar Club survey reveals that the universe of the largest players grew by 17.2% (or more than $140 billion), more than double the increase in total assets for the whole of 2005.
