Ramsey Asset Management is planning to introduce a fund early next year that will concentrate its assets in the firm's best stock picks.
The McLean, Va.-based firm has been incubating Ramsey Best Idea Fund since January - and its returns have been impressive. The fund is up 16.6% through August.
W. Russell Ramsey, the firm's founder, will manage Ramsey Best Idea. The fund will draw on a centralized research desk that also contributes ideas to Ramsey Total Return Fund, the firm's flagship, and a pair of smaller funds that focus on short positions.
