Ian Banwell, the former chief investment officer for Bank of America, is preparing to launch his first fund, Round Table Global Multi-Strategy Fund, on January 1.
The firms prospects look good. Bank of America has taken a minority stake in the firm and intends to invest as much as $1 billion in seeding several of the firms planned funds. Harvard University has also agreed to make a substantial, but undisclosed, investment.
Banwell left the bank in May, and now serves as lead portfolio manager at Round Table. The firm has 25 employees, including several former Bank of America alums,
