Citigroup hires former Carlyle managing director


Citigroup has hired Edward Kelly, a former managing director at The Carlyle Group, as president of its alternative investments division.

Kelly now reports to John Haven, who was president of Citi Alternative Investments (CAI) and will retain his title as the group’s chief executive. Kelly will also chair the CAI Management Committee and take responsibility for the group’s business strategy.

Citigroup has also hired Jaime Yordan, a former general partner at Goldman Sachs and chairman of that firm’s Latin American business unit; and Armando Diaz, another veteran of Goldman Sachs. Diaz joined Citi’s Global Equities as head of
