Oak Hill hires Blackstone team for distressed research


Oak Hill Advisors, a credit and distressed investment manager with over $10 billion, has hired Jason Serrano and a team of distressed structured product specialists from The Blackstone Group to expand the firm’s structured products research.

Prior to that, Serrano and Nicholas Mah, a member of the team, were at Fortress Investment Group, where they invested in various distressed asset classes.

Oak Hill Advisors, which was formed in 1990 as an entity of Robert Bass of Texas, invests in below investment-grade credits, including high-yield bonds, leveraged loans and special situations via hedge funds and other investment vehicles.—JF
