First Quadrant hires PanAgora veteran as global macro chief

California-based alternatives shop First Quadrant has hired Edgar Peters, formerly of PanAgora, as director of global macro investment research. The firm, which managed $27.4 billion in total assets as of April, and nearly $2 billion in hedge fund assets as of January, focuses on investments in equities and global macro strategies.

Peters, who will report to Max Darnell, partner and chief investment officer at First Quadrant, formerly served as chief investment officer of Boston-based PanAgora Asset Management, a quantitative investment firm where he worked for 23 years.—JF
