Carlson Capital hires McKinsey alum as first CEO


Carlson Capital has brought on McKinsey & Co. émigré Ron Hulme as its first chief executive officer – a move designed to help the firm continue strengthening its management team following a 2005 McKinsey-led reorganization.

Hulme, who has spent the past 26 years at McKinsey – most recently as a director and a leader in the management consultancy’s energy practice – developed a rapport with Carlson’s president and namesake, Clint Carlson, and the firm’s chief operating officer, Roy Trice, in late 2005 when he worked with the pair on Carlson’s reorganization.
