If September wasn’t bad enough, the carnage has continued in October. Mid-month numbers for hedge fund performance are trickling in, and the year-to-date numbers for some of the best-known players are sinking further into double-digit losses.
Event-driven funds are some of the hardest hit. Third Point Offshore was down 22.79% as of October 15, Perry Partners International was down 14.97%, and York Investment was off 18.83%, both as of October 17.
A number of global macro players are also on the wrong side of today’s trends. Drawbridge Global Macro was down 17.27% and Pantera Global Macro had lost 20.93%,
