MFA hires chief legal officer ahead of regulatory reform


The Managed Funds Association, the primary lobbying group for the U.S. hedge fund industry, has hired a general counsel to help represent the industry on legislative and regulatory policy. Stuart Kaswell joins the association from law firm Bryan Cave, where he was a partner.

This year’s financial crisis, and the government’s unprecedented intervention to save failing banks and other financial institutions, is expected to bring on dramatic changes to the oversight of financial markets and actors.
