D. E. Shaw's Summers goes to White House


Larry Summers is trading in his part-time hedge fund gig for full-time work at the White House. A former Treasury Secretary and president of Harvard University, Summers is leaving his post at D.E. Shaw Group after two years to serve as President-elect Barack Obama's head of the National Economic Council. Summers will also serve as assistant to the president for economic policy.
