Brevan Howard eyes equity growth, hires top MS trader Gallo

Brevan Howard, the $29 billion hedge fund firm led by Alan Howard and Nagi Kawkabani, is planning a significant expansion of its equity trading capabilities after the hiring last year of Morgan Stanley global equity trading head Fabrizio Gallo.

Gallo, who joined Brevan Howard last September, was most recently global head of equities at Morgan Stanley - where he led one of the world's largest and most profitable equity franchises.

He has taken over the running of the standalone Brevan Howard Equity Strategies fund and will also build out a more significant equity franchise for the firm generally.
