Hedge Funds

Hedge funds and the city

by

In her fifth and latest novel, chick-lit pioneer Candace Bushnell tackles hedge fund managers - or rather the lifestyle their wealth affords. Their crimes are excess and social climbing, so don't be surprised if Bushnell isn't nice. "One Fifth Avenue" details the over-the-top lives of residents of the storied Greenwich Village Art Deco apartment building, including fund managers Paul Rice and Sandy Brewers. The only false note is that for many hedge funds, the days of full-wall aquariums with $100,000 fish are long gone.
