Former CNBC anchor Insana to leave SAC

Ron Insana’s hedge fund career has been short-lived. After a failed effort to launch his own fund of funds firm and a brief stint with Stevie Cohen’s SAC Capital Advisors, Insana is said to be returning to his previous career as a journalist.

Insana, a longtime anchor for CNBC who spent more than a decade interviewing Wall Street’s most prominent figures, left his position with the cable network in March 2006 to launch Insana Capital Partners, a fund of funds that promised access to some of the industry’s most prominent hedge funds, such as SAC, Carl Icahn’s Icahn Partners
