Not taking a strong directional view on the markets and maintaining a trading mentality helped the JF Asia Absolute Return Fund to gain 0.98% in February, putting the fund up 4.90% year-to-date. The fund kept a low net position, at zero for most of the months, with grosses between 80% and 90%, and traded around the volatility in the market, explains portfolio manager Victor Lee. The fund ended positive for the month, and has made gains every week since the start of the year. February was the fund's fourth positive month.
