The New York firm has been profitable since inception and now manages $340 million, having launched with $200 million. It received $150 million in seed funding from Blackstone Strategic Alliance Fund.
The Latin word senator stems from senex, meaning "old man," and Senator's opportunistic strategy may help the firm live to old age, despite timing that might have killed it. The firm began trading in July but managed
