UK's Berkshire selects Lyxor for new approach


Berkshire Pension Fund's award of a $1.5 billion mandate, which makes up 7.5% of total assets, to Lyxor Asset Management is further evidence that local authority pension funds continue to be at the forefront of hedge fund investing in the UK, and that the managed accounts concept has begun to take hold.

The council, which manages the pension assets for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in the UK, was drawn to Lyxor's managed accounts platform on the basis of the increased transparency and liquidity offered by the structure.
