Boston hunts 130/30 managers

The Boston Retirement System in Massachusetts is broadening its large-cap enhanced equity manager search to include 130/30 managers.

The $3 billion retirement fund will allocate up to $100 million with a domestic large-cap 130/30 manager or managers that are required to have a minimum track record of at least two years and client assets in the current strategy. Consultant NEPC collected responses to the RFP at the end of June.

The pension programme already invests in funds of hedge funds and was one of the first municipal Massachusetts retirement systems to invest in hedge funds
