Lincolnshire to seek alternatives managers

Lincolnshire County Council will look to make its first foray into hedge funds next year following a shake-up in its investment portfolios.

The Newland, Lincoln-based pension fund, which has total assets of around $1.6 billion, will tender for alternative investment managers for an allocation of around 15% of total assets under management or roughly $240 million.

It is undecided as yet what percentage of the total alternatives allocation will be attributed to hedge funds. One possibility under consideration is tendering for a multi-asset alternatives manager to handle the entire allocation.
