University of Nebraska adds hedge funds


The University of Nebraska Foundation is adding hedge funds to its asset mix.

The $1 billion plus portfolio is one of the few university endowments of its size that has not invested in hedge funds to date. The portfolio has included stocks, bonds and real estate investments. Over the last 20-plus years the foundation has grown from $175 million, reaching to $1.6 billion in 2008.
